I hate breaking down the x-mas decorations. Not just because it is so much work but because I love them so much. I dont put any regular lights on from the day after November til the middle of January. I just light with X-mas lights. I always buy a set or two after x-mas, they are at least 50% off in most stores. I always but some sort of big decoration too, a blow up polar bear this year. It was a $70 decoration and I got it for $35. Not too shabby!!
Jak seems to not want to pack them up either, she keeps redecorating-hee hee!! She was Ms Christmas this year. We had a great time baking and watching ABC family, I also discovered the Hallmark channel. What great x-mas movies. We taped alot of them and if we ever get a snow day (we have had NO snow in the Berkshires since Halloween) we will snuggle down and watch some.
The good news is that we are having company next weekend so we cant take them down til they come--oh no we can't!!
Decided to do a little after x-mas shopping this morning. If anyone knows me they know I dont pay full price for anything but I do like nice things. This morning I went to the Yankee Candle store in our area to take advantage of their after x-mas clearance. I have Yankee Candles all over my house and am proud to say I havent paid more then 50% for any of them. I bought 4 candles, over $100 worth of candles, for only $36. These will be gifts for people during the year and maybe next x-mas since they are x-mas scents. I get coupons in my e-mail from Yankee Candle and have gotten some super deals. I will post the link in my Great Deals tab!!
I know I said 4 candles but I am currently burning one :)
I made some great soup today and I will post tomorrow the recipe Broccoli and Cheddar soup with home made croutons (Jak used to call them coupons-cutie). The whole recipe cost less than $7.
Hope you are having a great day and enjoying playoff football, I know I am!! Go Saints!!
